Meet the Brink Family

We’re Heather and Richard Brink, the family behind Dos Lobos Ranch in Wise County, Texas.

We raise pasture-raised Kunekune pork, grass-fed and grass-finished Dexter beef, seasonal turkey, and heritage livestock with one simple goal: to raise food we are proud to feed our own family and yours.

At Dos Lobos Ranch, we believe customers should know the people raising their food, understand how the animals are cared for, and feel confident about what they’re bringing home to their table.

Our Mission

Raise exceptional food. Improve the land. Help families reconnect with local agriculture.

That mission guides everything we do — from the breeds we choose, to how we manage pasture, to the way we communicate with customers.

How Dos Lobos Ranch Began

Dos Lobos Ranch started with a dream of raising our own food, living closer to the land, and building something meaningful as a family.

Heather had always been drawn to farming, livestock, and the idea of producing food with more care and transparency than what most customers find in a grocery store.

Richard may not have started out planning to become a rancher, but somewhere between the animals, the land, the customers, and the work itself, the farm became desirable to him too.

What started as a small family homestead has grown into a pasture-based 10 acre micro-ranch serving North Texas families through local delivery, farmers markets, online ordering, and nationwide shipping.

Our Farm Timeline

Dos Lobos Ranch did not become what it is overnight. Like most small farms, it has grown one season, one animal, one customer, and one lesson at a time.

January 2023: The Beginning

Dos Lobos Ranch began with a simple goal: raise better food for our own family and build a life closer to the land.

Learning the Land

We began improving our pastures, learning our soil, building fencing, adding livestock, and discovering what our small North Texas acreage could support.

Choosing Heritage Breeds

Kunekune pigs and Dexter cattle became the foundation of our farm because they fit our goals for pasture-based livestock, manageable size, rich flavor, and functional genetics.

May 2024: Feeding Local Families

What started as food for our own freezer grew into farmers market sales, local delivery, online ordering, and customers who wanted to know the family raising their meat.

2025: Building a Better System

As the farm grew, we began focusing more intentionally on regenerative grazing, soil fertility, breeding records, tenderness genetics, feed transparency, and customer education.

Today

Today, Dos Lobos Ranch raises pasture-raised Kunekune pork, grass-fed Dexter beef, seasonal turkey, and registered breeding stock while serving families across North Texas and beyond.

Why We Farm the Way We Do

We do not believe food should be anonymous. We want customers to know how their animals were raised, what they were fed, why certain products sell out, and why small-farm food costs what it costs.

Our farm is built around transparency, stewardship, animal welfare, and quality over volume. We are not trying to produce the cheapest food possible. We are trying to raise food with intention.

That means choosing heritage breeds, managing pasture carefully, building soil fertility, using thoughtful breeding decisions, and raising animals in systems that fit their biology.

How We Raise Your Food

Our farming practices start with the land. Healthy soil grows healthy pasture, healthy pasture supports healthy animals, and healthy animals produce better food.

We use rotational grazing, forage-based systems, corn-free and soy-free feed programs where appropriate, and careful animal selection to build a farm that can keep improving over time.

If you want the full explanation of our farming practices, visit our How We Raise Your Food page.

From One Meat Snob to Another

We care deeply about flavor, texture, quality, and how food was raised because we are picky about what we feed our own family.

We are not trying to convince everyone to buy from a local farm. We are here for the families who want to know more, ask better questions, and build a direct relationship with the people raising their food.

Meet the Aussie Posse

No introduction to Dos Lobos Ranch would be complete without the dogs.

Our Australian Shepherds are part of the daily rhythm of the farm — watching, supervising, riding along, and making sure no chore happens without proper management from the Aussie Posse.

They are part of the personality of Dos Lobos Ranch, and if you follow our newsletters or social media, you will probably get to know them almost as well as the livestock.
